OUR RENOVATION - 2005

At times frustrating and nerve-wracking, but at the same time, a joy to know this historic old building was getting a long-deserved renovation. Inside, we exposed and refinished the old plank floors, tore down temporary walls and the boards covering our transom windows, painted the walls a gorgeous red, exposed the original tin ceiling, and added fans and gorgeous lighting fixtures. Behind the scenes we updated electrical and heating/AC. Outside we painted, added a beautiful new awning, new signage, and double entrance doors (like she had way back when.)

Photos taken during the renovation appear below, followed by some of the mural that long-time artist friend, Sally Van Nuys, hand-painted on the ceiling in an area where stairs used to lead to the second story. Sally also painted faux brick on the plaster-covered chimney space. We also included some photos of our annual Christmas Open House following the renovation in Nov. 2005.

The photos here show just a bit of our renovation - please come in and see for yourself what a beauty our building is once again!
